Say what you want done. Watch it happen.
Valet works in your own Chrome tab, on the AI model you already pay for. It clicks, types and fills forms while you watch, and it asks before anything that matters.

You ask. It works in your tab. You stay in charge.

Ask
Open the side panel on any page and say what you want done, in plain words. Attach a file or a screenshot, or dictate.
-
Watch
A violet halo marks the tab and Valet's own cursor shows where it clicks and types. Every action is a line in the panel.
-
Approve
A new site, or a form that sends data, waits for your OK. You see where it goes and every value it will send.
-
Keep the result
Get the answer, or a file: Markdown, CSV, JSON, or a PDF report with sources. Nothing is saved until you click Download.
Your tab is the workspace.
Real input on real pages, so it works on sites that ignore scripted events.
- Drives real pages
- Clicks, hovers, drags, types, picks options, presses keys and scrolls.
- Sees what you see
- Reads the page as an outline, takes screenshots when layout matters, and reads long articles in parts.
- Makes files
- Markdown summaries, CSV tables, JSON data, or a designed PDF report with sources.
- Takes what you give it
- Images, PDFs and text, a screenshot of any tab or window, or your voice.
- Learn mode
- Before every step it points where it will go, says what and why, and waits for you to press Next.
- Skills
- Short notes it follows on the sites you name. After a good run, Save as skill drafts one for you.
The extension enforces the rules, not the model.
The model reads untrusted web pages, so the guard rails live in code it can't talk its way around.
- New sites need your OK. Unapproved sites are blocked before a request leaves the browser.
- Forms show what they send. Where it goes and each value, checked again right before sending.
- No passwords, no page code. It never types into password fields, never runs code in pages, and ignores instructions found in page content.
- You keep the keys. Sign-ins, CAPTCHAs and two-factor prompts come back to you. Stop always works.

- Get the code. Download or clone the repository from GitHub.
- Build it. With Node 22 or later: npm install then npm run build.
- Load it in Chrome. Open chrome://extensions, turn on Developer mode, choose Load unpacked and pick the dist folder.
- Pin it and say hello. Pin Valet from the puzzle-piece menu, open the side panel, and connect a model.
What is an AI browser agent?
An assistant that does things on web pages for you, not just answers questions. It reads the page, clicks, types and fills forms to finish the task you describe. Valet does this in your own Chrome, in the current tab.
Is Valet free?
Yes, and open source. You pay only your AI provider, with a subscription or API key you already have, or nothing at all with a local model.
Why does it ask for access to all sites?
It works on whichever site you ask it to, so it can't know in advance. The extension limits where it can go: a task starts allowed only on your page, and any other site needs your approval first.
Why does Chrome say it “started debugging this browser”?
Valet uses Chrome's debugger to send real mouse clicks, key presses and screenshots in the tabs of your task. It's attached only while the agent works and detached when it stops.
Does it work with Gemini, xAI or a local model?
Yes. Pick Gemini, xAI and other providers with an API key, or run Ollama on your computer. Anything OpenAI-compatible works.
Can it log in or solve CAPTCHAs for me?
No, on purpose. It never types into password fields; sign-ins, CAPTCHAs and two-factor prompts are handed back to you.
Give it a small errand today.
Free, open source, and it asks before anything that matters.
